When the animals checked out a range of cards to see how people portrayed the Magician they decided that Crow was the most eligible candidate to hold the title of Magician. “It is indisputable that this ancient bird has wisdom and magic to teach us” said Emu. “Crow represents magic and the Underworld. The crow represents change or transformation. But much more than that, it refers more to a spiritual or emotional change. These intelligent birds give us valuable insight into situations around us and help us adapt as needed”.
Crow preened herself, delighted that Emu and the other birds and animals that had gathered in this small community should acknowledge her.
Then, seemingly from nowhere, a hot air balloon carrying a Possum, who claimed to have supreme magical powers, arrived.
Because Crow is so self assured, so sure of who she is and what she is capable of, she had no problem with a Possum arriving, carrying all the tools of the trade. To be honest, she was decidedly amused. Indeed, everyone in this community enjoys watching this creature scamper about and performing magic tricks like ‘playing dead’.
