Bonnie and the Hierophant

Bonnie’s Perspective

I perch beside the Teacher, feathers fluffed, heart steady. His presence hums like a tuning fork, deep and resonant, guiding me into stillness. At first, I thought wisdom meant knowing everything—a library of answers ready for the asking. But sitting with him, I discover wisdom is more like a doorway. You don’t walk through all at once—you are invited, step by step, to notice, to listen, to breathe.

The Teacher does not speak in commands. His teachings ripple through silence, gestures, and the calm weight of his gaze. When I ruffle my wings impatiently, he only smiles, reminding me that truth is not chased, it unfolds. He teaches that every tradition, every practice, is like a feather—light alone, but strong when woven together into a wing.

I learn that reverence doesn’t mean bowing down—it means being fully present. That discipline is not a cage, but a structure that lets spirit soar. That guidance comes not from one voice but from the chorus of ancestors, teachers, and seekers across time.

As I sit beside him, I realize: I am not here to mimic him, nor to become him. I am here to embody my own way of wisdom, to carry what resonates, and to share it in my own cockatoo fashion—with flair, with laughter, with the occasional squawk.

Message of the Card:

The Hierophant calls you to open yourself to teachings that have endured across generations. Listen for the wisdom hidden in structure and tradition, but do not lose your voice. A true teacher does not bind you, but frees you to fly.
