XVII – The Star
Meaning Upright: Hope, renewal, guidance, inspiration, healing, trust in life’s flow.
After the Tower has fallen, and the world lies in ash and fragments, Bonnie the Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo perches quietly beneath the night sky. She sees not ruin, but the shining light of a single guiding star, clear and unwavering.
Her message is this: “Hope is not destroyed with the Tower. It is revealed.”
The Star speaks of healing after devastation, of quiet after thunder, of breath returning to lungs emptied by shock. For Bonnie, the brilliance of the Star is a reminder that even in alien lands, even after upheaval, there is always a light that calls us forward. The Star does not demand; it invites. It does not shout; it whispers.
Where the Tower shook foundations, the Star rebuilds trust—first in the self, then in the greater cosmos. Bonnie urges us to lift our eyes, as the beings in the card do, and remember that wonder still exists. To gaze upon the Star is to remember your own place within the great weave, and to trust that renewal will follow destruction.
